In the Heart of the North West Highlands

This beautiful newly built four-bedroom ground floor home is available for self-catering. It comfortably sleeps up to eight and is dog and child friendly. It is a no smoking property. All electricity charges are included in the rental.
The large ‘natural’ garden area is fully enclosed by a fence, making it perfect for children and smaller dogs. The garden is covered with the natural fauna and flora and also has a grass and a patio area to sit and enjoy the views.
Situated in a 600 acre estate in the beautiful and wild northern area of Assynt, with spectacular views over Lochan Fearna onto the majestic mountains of Canisp and Quinag. 
There is a small shop, a bar and cafe in the village of Drumbeg, three miles north or further facilities ten miles south at Lochinver. The immediate area has endless possibilities for the outdoor enthusiast and, as a designated National Scenic Area, will never fail to impress with its beaches, mountains, lochs, hills and glens. Truly an unspoiled Highland paradise!

  • Spacious lounge with large TV and DVD player, a cosy log burning stove with ‘starter pack’ and patio doors to access the outdoor patio area.
  • Well equipped fully fitted kitchen/diner with large dining table.
  • Utility Room with washing machine and clothes airer.
  • 3 bedrooms with king-size beds, 2 of which are en-suite.
  • 1 bedroom with twin beds.
  • All bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes.
  • Linen and Towels included but please bring your own beach towels and dog towels.
  • Large family bathroom with electric shower over bath and heated towel rail.

There is Wi-Fi throughout the house, it can be a little slow but is perfectly suitable for emails and surfing the web only. Streaming will probably not be possible.
Mobile signal is very unreliable but there is a landline coin-operated payphone telephone.

The tariff for Fearna Cottage is £700 to £1,600 per week, depending on time of year.

Where is Fearna Cottage?

From the South -
From the A837, just outside Lochinver, take the B869 single-track road north.
After 10 miles you pass the beautiful Clashnessie Beach.
2 miles after Clashnessie Beach, you will see Fearna Cottage on the right, beside the road.

From the North-
From the A894, 2 miles from Kylesku Bridge, take the B869 single-track road south.
After 9 miles you pass through the small village of Drumbeg.
3 miles after Drumbeg you will see Fearna Cottage on the left, beside the road.

 Fly Fishing Paradise on your Doorstep - Literally!

Fly fishing on the Strathcroy Estate hill lochs is included in the accommodation rental fee. These are Loch Poll, Garb Loch Mhor and Garb Loch Beg. The loch that Fearna Cottage overlooks and from which the house gets its name is part of Lagg Fishery, an outstanding ‘Wild Trout Stocked Fishery’ where you have a good chance of catching an impressive Rainbow Trout or some bigger Brown Trout. Day tickets are available for the fishery and the hire of equipment is available locally by prior arrangement.
